Center for Spirituality (BCS) is named in honor of Nona Lovell Brooks, the first

Educational PhilosophyThe Brooks Center for Spirituality is committed to
perpetuating and promoting the teachings of Divine Science as defined by its
founders and to teaching knowledge of the divine and of the principles of
consciousness as presented in Divine Science, other New Thought traditions,
and the Judeo-Christian tradition; to providing an ecumenical setting for
comparative education in the worldwide history of spirituality and of
mysticism; and to providing a non-denominational and independent institution
of adult education for persons seeking personal and cultural enrichment,
especially in philosophy, psychology, anthropology, sociology and cosmology
as they relate to religion and spirituality. |
PurposeTo
provide an open, non-dogmatic environment for religious education for all
people seeking cultural enrichment and spiritual enlightenment. To provide professional instruction and training for teachers, practitioners, and ministers in the field of New Thought in general and for the Divine Science denomination in particular. To provide continuous education for New Thought and other ministries in order that current and on-going professional standards may be maintained.
